This morning i bought my usual V power from the Shell servo at Kingsgrove North, prices were more than 160 cents per litre, which is an absolute joke imo.
what i really want to know is, Australia has oil reserves. I dont know for sure, but i think Australia can technically be self supporting for petroleum. So how are we affected so much by global influences? Would appreciate if someone can clarify this

Aaliyah Haughton - Missed Always
Today i went on a journey back in time, to one of my favourite all time performers and a unique talent - Aaliyah. No words can describe how talented she was, and personally i was influenced by her music, particularly the "One In A Million" album, which unfortunately i have lost :(
RIP Aaliyah, a truly stellar talent lost, the world still mourns
More info @ Wikipedia Wikipedia Link
And a Youtube link Aaliyah - I Miss You (with tributes)

Volvo Drivers
Ok so most of my close buddies know i drive a Volvo. And Volvo drivers rightly or wrongly have a negative image in some ways, due to the fact that many many years ago Volvos were boxy but extremely safe cars driven by older drivers.
So before u click on the jump below, whats your opinion of Volvo drivers?

Portland Trail Blazers Cursed?
I have been a diehard fan of the Blazers since 1988, when i first saw Clyde "The Glide" soaring over the Lakers in a regular season game for a huge dunk, and then the following seasons when a team first ethic yielded 2 finals appearances and league wide respect.
Following a few disasterous seasons, following the draft of Brandon Roy and LaMarcus Aldridge, things got better. A LOT better. but the past 2 seasons the Blazers have had pretty much the worst injury rate and games lost to injury of any team in the league (i dont count the warriors seriously).
I am beginning to think the team is cursed.
Thoughts and opinions?

The Great Pork Roll Debate
I have been a customer of King's Hot Bread, Forest Rd Hurstville probably since i was in my teens (so 10 years or so). But one of the enduring debates amongst savvy pork roll aficionados is who makes the best Pork Rolls in Sydney? Apparently shops in Cabramatta, Bankstown etc. make awesome Pork Rolls but i cant say they rox my sox to be honest.
Your opinion?

Sydney Heat Wave
So apparently the past week or so is the hottest in history or something, heard a snippet about it when listening to the radio, apologies if its not 100% factual since i didnt hear the full story.
Considering the entire week has been 30+ and indeed most of the time during the middle of the day it feels like 35-40 i cant remember ever having a stretch of time like this ever.
Even worse, QLD is just a disaster zone in general, floods the cyclones, whats next?
I saw this on TV (copied from heraldsun.com.au) :
Then i remembered seeing this in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow":
Yea i was kinda spooked when i saw it too, in the end i just hope the QLDers are ok and the damage is minimal.
